Leaders of the 12-party alliance have called on the government to immediately declare a specific election date and ensure a smooth transition of power to an elected government.
Addressing a protest rally in front of the National Press Club today (9 January), Mostafa Jamal Hayder, chairman of the National Party and head of the alliance, said, “The interim government is incapable of resolving any issues or implementing reforms. Leave with dignity by transferring power to an elected government.”
The demonstration was organised to demand the declaration of an election roadmap, the arrest, and trial of “fascist allies” of the government, and justice for political and administrative misconduct.
